I Do….Well I Did Part 2

A good rule of thumb when explaining something is to start at the beginning.  So let us look there, Genesis 1:26, 27 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  We have been designed and created by God Himself.  He decided that man should not be left alone throughout his life; Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”  This shows us that women were the idea of God and not the idea of man. So then, woman is the completeness of man. It is not supposed to be looked at as though the cultural or our upbringing is what makes us a woman.  There are those who try, but you can’t deny who God made you to be.  He did not create a genderless being. We are women because God created us a woman.  Now, not only did he create us as a woman but he also created us in His image; refer back to Genesis 1:27.  Think about that for a while, in the image of God.  What does that mean to you?  For me, it is stating that God has given me a spirit after him, His image.  As women, we should be embracing our femininity whether we are married yet or not.  The problem is that women think that they won’t have complete happiness in their lives unless they take on the male role.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  If you want complete happiness in your life then you must abide in the word of God, for the glory of God.  John 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. We have been living in a post Christian culture for decades now.  Women seem to have a self-indulgent, self-gratifying attitude about life.  Look around, women are trying to make a name for themselves instead of realizing the truth that man already named them; Genesis 2:23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” Many women see staying at home, honoring their husbands and nurturing their children as form of slavery.  Another sad point to this is that young girls are being taught this every day.  Throughout their households, all of primary school, universities and their own communities, girls are shown that those who stay at home rather than have a career, is a demeaning life.  They are taught that “true fulfillment” in life lies outside the home in a career.  Women you will only find true fulfillment when you turn from the world and glorify God.  You can only do this by following His word, and what He has laid out before you. Are you afraid that you might be seen as less than a woman if you stay at home?  Women want their lives to be their lives.  But no matter how you might try to feel as though it is, it never has been and never will be.  You should ask yourself who’s will you truly want to follow.  If you have made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savor you know it to be true.  For He bought your life with a costly price.  His one and only Son.

We will look over more tomorrow.
