Why do you HATE me?

Do you know of someone who dislikes the “Church?” I have heard several people within my lifetime try their hardest to disgrace the Church. When I was younger, I couldn’t understand as to why they felt the way they do.  But as I look into the world, I can see, that you just want to do what ever you feel... no matter how harmful it might be to someone else or yourself for that matter. You don’t like to have to take responsibility for your actions or lack of, and don’t want to see the harm. Now if you look up the word Church you will find where it talks about a building. But if you ask a Christian, you just might get several answers depending on their personal denomination.  I am Pentecostal.

For me, the word Church, has many meanings. Yes, the obvious one is an actual place with a roof and walls where other Christians gather around to worship, fellowship and understanding of God’s word. It is a place where I feel safe from the world and all the problems with it. Where I can relate to others and what they are going through. Where I can find support for the mayhem that maybe around me. But Church is without a doubt, so much more.

It is the place within myself where I can talk to God. Church is within my prayers. I can go within myself, so to speak, and find the peace that God has laid on my heart and soul. Church is within my worship. When I sing a song about Him, I sing to Him. I get a built up strength of God just for me. I can feel the walls of my faith getting stronger and yet having support all at once.

It is a place where my family is. It can be anywhere. If I am with my family, we will show God’s love and understanding for one another within our tiny means. We lift each other up, so that the other doesn’t feel far from God, or causes harm. We understand that not each of us are perfect and we don’t expect the others to be also. We talk to one another. We clear the air. We rely on one another.

When we have people who don’t understand just what they are saying when they say, “I hate Church”, my heart just aches. Church is personal to me. It is where my spirit soars. When you confess out hatred to the Church, you are, whether you mean it this way or not, confessing hatred at me, because I am part of the Church and it is a part of me.  I also heard them then try to twist it by saying, “well I mean “Religion”.  But my faith; what I believe in, is my Religion. I have faith in the Church and there are no two ways about it.  So their statement is still the same.  I know, some people might say that I’m being too sensitive.  That I need not to take things sooo personally. But let me ask them this.  If I were to say I hate anyone who is this or that and your love was this or that, would you not take that personally also.  Of course you would.  People have been doing this kind of thing since people have been around.  But, it seems to be easier for people to attack the One that they don’t want to see.

I believe in God, three in one. I believe in the church that He is building.  I believe in the word of God; the Bible.  I am a grown woman with a grown mind.  No one makes me or harasses me into any of it.  I do this of my own free will. {Which by the way was given to me by God}

With just some of the reasons I have now expressed, let me say that I can and do understand when people get hurt by “the Church.” I too have met with people who aren’t exactly what I would call loving. Or ministers who preach their own agenda in place of God’s will.  I cry for such people.  I don’t understand such people.  I get angry that these people who attack my God. I want to tell them off.  I want to tell them to find another Church.  I want to smack some Holy Spirit into them.   But as a Christian, I can only have one answer for these people of hate.  Prayer.

You read it right, when you don’t like the Church, it is the only place I can go.  Because I know it is safe, it is my worship place, it is where my family is. It is a my place of happiness and joy.  It is where God is.

Ghost of the Church

Where is the Church? I mean really. Where are you people of God?!? Are you sitting on your back sides while others of the world are taking everything over? Where are those who will stand up for their faith? Where are those who will stand up for God? I’ll tell you they’re not here in America. No, they are in ….. Getting their heads cut off because they will not bow down to those who are against God. http://www.military.com/video/operations-and-strategy/battles/syrian-rebels-behead-christians/2525038454001/ Young and old, men and women. They have taken the stand against evil. Those are the ones who are winning souls. American Christians are boo- hooing about the things going on around them instead of standing on the Word. We have churches allowing gays to be married http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/11/politics/btn-same-sex-marriage/ let alone “teaching the word” now says it’s ok to be gay. We have so called men of God sexually abusing those in their church. We have people being harassed for not complying to gays. http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/city-threatens-to-arrest-ministers-who-refuse-to-perform-same-sex-weddings.html Which (the gays) is supposed to be a minority? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/07/15/health-survey-americans-gay_n_5587696.html We have people pushing for abortions. http://www.numberofabortions.com/ And the list could go on and on. It probably will.
When will the true Christians of this country stand and say enough. I’m not trying to promote hate. I’m not trying to promote anger. I’m trying to promote love back to God. Throughout all of this turmoil He still loves us. We Christians are not supposed to get along with this world. We are supposed to show Christ’s love to our neighbors and to God. We are instead hiding our eyes and ears like ostriches. Sticking our heads in the sand while the world takes over. There will soon be nothing too outrageous for anyone. The standards of people have gone so far down that it will take many generations to climb back to the straight and narrow path. But it only took a couple of generations to get here.

The crime rate has gone up across the country with the introduction of extreme islam, and isis. Whether people like to admit it or not, we in a spiritual war and have been for some time. But the world will tell you it is more important to concentrate on the color of a persons skin http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/us/ferguson-shooting-protests or what we call our children http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/10/09/gender-inclusive-school-district-says-drop-boys-and-girls-call-kids-purple/ The government isn’t really concerned with your health unless you’re giving them thousands upon thousands of dollars. They’re not concerned with making more jobs. Because since they have taken over the academics of our country the education of our children has gone to pot. http://www.broadeducation.org/about/crisis_stats.html Oh yeah, there another subject. Let’s look at the drugs that are now legal which would have gotten you thrown in jail just a few years ago. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-great-marijuana-experiment-a-tale-of-two-drug-wars-20140103 If, we as a Church, don’t start right now and make up our minds, hearts and souls, to stay with God rather than away from him, all will be lost to evil. I hear people say that this country was founded on Christian beliefs. Where are those beliefs now?

We Just Need To Practice

Hey there everyone,

I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.  I most certainly did.  My oldest came home from college for Christmas, my daughter turned 17 (She is making me and the hubby old very fast.)  She also got a job right before her birthday (Which is one week before Christmas).  We all celebrated my three holidays together at home with no big hoop la.  Which was just fine with all of us.

At the beginning of each year you might be finding yourself looking back.  People like to see what if anything they got accomplished and what they didn’t.  They make new goals for the upcoming months.  They try to adopt new, better habits.  One thing I have found is that they don’t set these out on a day-to-day basis.  No they spread them out over an entire year.  Yes, I realize that there are some that may take that long.  But ask yourself when you wake up in the morning, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it the tasks that need to be done? Or perhaps a soreness/pain you may have for sleeping different then you needed.  I could list a whole number of things that ; not only have I said to myself, but have heard others as well.  We are to begin each day a new. With the joy of the Lord.   Not with bitterness or need.  In order to do this all it takes is …… practice.  Practice means that you are trying each and every day with all you mind, body, and soul.  Practice means you won’t get it perfected or even do it some days.  It means you are trying.  That you are actually doing it with a good heart.  Practice mean you have taken you out of it and are doing it for the Lord.

I don’t understand why people are putting so much disgust on themselves at the beginning of each year.  They haven’t lost enough weight, gotten any healthier, saved enough money, given enough money and so on. So what?!? Do the best you can with what you have daily and let God handle the rest.  Before you know it; it will be a new healthier, happier, habit and a wonderful start to your day.  Now for those who might be keeping score, I know that I didn’t write a whole lot last year, but within that time that I did these are the words I used most.

Angels, Bible, Child, Children, Christ, Christian, Church, Churches, Control, Faith, Family, Glory, God, Good, Gospel, Grace, Hear, Hearts, Jesus, Kids, Learn, Lessons, Life, Listen, Lord, Love, Luke, Man, Marriage, Matthew, Mercy, Mistakes, MS, Music, ORU, Parents, Pastor, People, Religion, Speak, Spirit, Trouble, Women, Word, Work.

I like to leave you with a song that I heard on a CD that my sister had a long time ago.  The song might be an old one but it still holds.

Are You Trending?

Hey there everyone,

Have I written about standards in the past?  Well if I had, get ready again and if I haven’t then get ready anyway. Ha!  I am having a hard time going through my days listening to people around me with the things that they are going through where there is a huge lack of standards or any at all.  The standards of the world are trying their best to leak into every aspect of everyone’s life.  You can’t turn on the television, the radio, social media without hearing the lack of standards that  are being shoved down your throats.  I don’t care what your political views are, nor do I care what denomination you attend.  However I do care that our government is trying to control everything we do and I do care that most churches are not standing up for God and his children.

I do care when I turn on the television and I get to hear Burger King use the word freaking.  I grew up thinking that Burger King was a family fast food place.  If they think it fine to use that word because “the times have changed” they have really lost touch with family.  Although families these days are just letting everything go.  I know I talked about moms going to work and not being there for the husband or kids.  We now have  a lot of dads who are taking the role of the housewife.  They say that they could work if they wanted to however women have been taking over all those jobs.  We even have commercials that use to be dealing with moms and the kids, but no longer.  The dads are replacing the moms.  They have new t.v. series about dads who take care of the kids.  The only good thing that I can say about is that at least someone is looking after the kids.

I don’t understand the attitudes of people these days either.  People are looking for someone else to do the work that is needed. Instead of doing the work themselves.  Everyone is looking at the trends that have invaded our world.  Trends like vampires, zombies, witches, even the food we eat like the pretzel buns and pumpkin spice whatever.  Slowly throughout a few years people that I had considered good, solid, faithful Christians have been letting things slip into their lives.  They don’t feel as if it is hurting anyone if they are 1. ” I know those things aren’t real.” 2. I’m not damaged by it.  3. I’m not promoting it.    Yes, they are not real but the more you are around something, the more you become accustomed to it all the way to where you just don’t care anymore.  And the more money and popularity they get. the longer the line gets for all the other companies to follow suit.   So you are promoting it.  You consume it into your soul.  There was a time in my life when our boys were staying with my in-laws when I was told by one of my sons that my father in-law was talking to his mail man and had told him that we were fanatics in our Pentecostal beliefs.  My son had to ask me about it because he though he was being described as something bad.  I personally don’t mind being called a fanatic.  Although it did upset me that my son thought he was seen by his grandpa as doing something wrong.  I don’t see fanatics anymore.  When we do or say or see something that isn’t bringing glory to God we are mocking God and falsely believing that it doesn’t matter to God or it’s not big enough to be against God.  Proverbs 14:9,14  Fools mock at sin.  But among the upright there is favor.    The backslider in heart will be filled with his own ways.  But a good man will be satisfied from above.  What we need is to pray and repent.  What we need is to stop walking with the trends and start walking with God.

Turning Your Frown Upside Down

I went shopping last week with my daughter at the grocery store.  As we got to the end of an aisle, a man with his own shopping cart was turning into the aisle and headed toward my cart.  When he realized what he was about to do, he quickly turned and said, “Sorry”.  Happy that here was no crash, I smiled back and said,” You’re good”.  He then frowned and went his unhappy way.  I was in total shock.  Nothing bad happened.  No bad words were inserted.  No scene had occurred.  So why was he unhappy?  I started looking around to see if maybe I had missed something.  Then I noticed that there was no one smiling.  Or  even had a pleasant expression for that matter.   I asked my daughter as we were walking to the van if she could see anyone around the parking lot smiling. She looked around and replied,”No, no one.”When we got home and after we had put the groceries away, I went to my news links to see if  something had happened that I was aware of that may be affected everyone.  There was nothing out of the ordinary this and that. As I was wondering as to why this was happening, I heard with an extreme measure of sound, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:14

These people, like so many in the world were not living in the joy and love of God.  Because, if you were, you could not help yourself in smiling to everyone.  And I do mean everyone.  Because His love and joy surpasses everything you or I could ever imagine.  Now, I grant you, I was not overjoyed when I was shopping for groceries.  Had it been clothes, or shoes, then the smiles would have been seen across the entire store.  However, I go with the intent of knowing that whatever I get will nourish my family in the manner that they need.  And that is a very happy thought within itself.

Matthew 16:15 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  Most people, when hearing that scripture think about missionaries traveling to remote places across this vast planet, spreading the “good news” to people while also teaching them how to read and write.  Getting clean water for them to drink and medicine for the ill.  Churches are always collecting money to send so that these good things can be accomplished.  And they are good things to get done.  But those same churches then turn around and tell their congregation to bring people in the church.  Churches look at numbers.  The number of people filling the chairs. The number of children attending an event.  The number at the end of the total of tithe.  All the while thinking that they have done their part in  Matthew 16:15.  Because after all they have missionaries that they send money to every month. And they allow those missionaries to come and talk to the congregations when they come back to the states.  I have even heard a church bribe the visiting children with gifts if they attend for a certain amount of time.

Instead of doing what Jesus said to do.  Go out.  They want the people to come in.  People don’t like to get uncomfortable with all the walking and talking that would have to come with it.  Even though it is a command from God.  I now don’t think that the man that I had encountered at the grocery store, gets too many smiles and didn’t know how to nicely respond back.  However, if he were to get more smiles throughout the days, weeks, months, years ahead, who knows?

I mean really, don’t you physically and emotionally feel better when someone smiles at you?  When I see someone smile, it causes me to smile.  I don’t even have to know what they are smiling about.  It just makes me happy to see others happy.  So tell me, how many smiles have you given out today?  Are you going out into your community and spreading the gospel?  Small steps, like smiles can be a good stepping stone to reach the real good news.  Reaching out to others can at times be hard.  But it doesn’t always have to be.  When we remember that God is with us always.  Hebrews 13:5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have; for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Wow, with that knowledge in your back pocket, just think of the strength and faith you can be showing to all!  And all for doing what you were told to do.  Shining God’s glory to everyone you meet can begin with something as simple as the smile God gave you.  So I am taking on a mission for myself.  I am pledging to smile at every single person I meet no matter what may be going on or who it is for an entire month.  Because I know that God will work through that on someone who is less likely to expect it.  Will you join me and smile your way through a month?  Yes, I know it might be hard sometimes when you see someone that you don’t necessarily like.  I’m not asking you or me to like them.  Just smile.  But this kind of challenge will truly show the stuff your made of.

Standing On The Authority Of God

What reputation do you have?  A while back I had asked you to ask others how they would describe you.  Hopefully you did and you did something positive dealing with it.  My heart has been sinking lately as I listen to churches.  Churches with preachers that no longer preach a prayed out message.  Instead, they give happy little speeches that are always timed.  Churches with congregations that moan about the music, the decor, or the people who attend.  All the while the world just stands back and mocks the Christians.  And we Christians let them.  Because we are too busy dividing up the body.  We are acting like our worst enemy.  We stand  offended  and jealous of everyone.  Why?…because instead of allowing the God appointed leaders to lead we think we have better ideas.  Better than God. Limb by limb the body is being destroyed.  We have been given the authority to cast out devils, to spread the gospel, to show the example of Christ.  Where is the desire of the church community?  Where is the love?  While talking to people, I can hear their spirits longing for a revival and as they continue to talk  I hear the carnal side of them describe the how.  Instead of just allowing the Holy Ghost to have control.  If we could stand still long enough to look at ourselves and see that we have work to do there first before pointing the fingers at others.  We just might find that we can’t do this without Him.  There is an old hymn where the lyrics are ” Standing, standing, I’m standing on the promises of God.”  Throughout the Bible you will find several promises that God has given to you.  So Stand Christian!  Stand on the authority and promises that have been given freely to you.

The World In Need

The phrase, helping the world” keeps being used a lot these days. It would appear that everyone is helping. And the closer it gets to the holidays, that are in the late fall/winter, the more you can hear how you can help or do your part. You can hear about it on the radio, see it on the television, and read about it in the paper.  They say they’re feeding people, building houses, giving financial aid and more. With all the help in the world, why is the world still in need?  If we break it down, here ‘s how it looks….

.

Companies and organizations claim that they are helping the world.  They try to come across as if they have a huge group who focus on helping each and every individual with their problems.  But when it comes right down to it, they usually just have a group spreading help with rules and regulations that are uniformed to all that need help.

Churches claim that they are helping the world.  They try to come across as if they reach poor and needy within the communities across the world. But when it comes right down to it, there is usually still an area of the community that remains poor and needy, because of rules and regulations that are uniformed to all that need help.

Government claims that they are helping the world.  They gather huge task forces to analyze the situation and then decide how the best plan of action.  But when it comes right down to it, there are still people in need, because they usually have too many uniformed rules and regulations for all that need help.

Jesus claims to help each and every person who asks.  The truth of the matter is…………

Jesus saves all

John 14:14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

So, which one will you call on when you need help? Everyone who year after year set out rules and regulations, or the one who says….just ask?
