When we (The Church), let people just run their lives as they see fit, then we are not abiding by the word of God. They are and want only self-will instead of the will of God. And we (the Church) have let them. They call us haters and say that we are not showing love as they quote the Bible themselves. That part they seem to always know. But they don’t want to hear, either with their ears or hearts (spirit) that the way they are living is against God’s word. What happened to the elders of the Church? The ones who are to give the guidelines to those whose lives are not showing the truth of the word through the way they live. 2 Timothy 2:14-15 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Did you see that even in Biblical times people tried to divide the word of God so that the word applied to the way they live instead of applying their life to the word. Instead of doing what God Himself has said to do, we have looked the other way and allowed them to walk right into sin. 2 Timothy 16,17 But shun profane and vain babblings for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
The word of God has told us to shun them and to do this until they find the word of God as truth. We cannot just pick and choose what scriptures we will follow and which we won’t. We either follow them all, or none of them. We are not told to be mean as we shun. If you read further, you will see that this isn’t done until after they are spoken to multiple times and then with meekness and love they are to be shunned if there is no change in their lives. I cannot begin to tell you how many Christians feel as though if they are acting ungodly if they follow God instead of following the person that is offensive to God. Jesus told us that we will be hated, because they first hated Him. Stand up people of Christ! Stand up Church! Where is the consequence to their behavior? Not in the style as if a person was a mass murderer but in a way for them to understand that if they would like to live that way then they must do it without you. Because you don’t want to betray the One. Who should be more important to you than anyone else. If one listens to someone over and over give excuses to the way that they live, then the next so called little thing won’t be so hard to believe. Chip, chip, chip, little by little they will whittle away to all your moral beliefs until you believe the exact same way that they do. And once you do, your children will follow you. Which is completely the opposite of the Gospel.
